CheSilo ^TM  Carboxy Methyl Cellulose

CheSilo^TM Carboxymethyl Celluose（abbr.CheSilo CMC）is  synthetic derivative of cellulose, a naturally-occurring polysaccharide that is a component of the cell walls of green plants. The base-catalyzed reaction between cellulose and chloroacetic acid confers water solubility to the resulting carboxy methyl cellulose product that is absent in cellulose. It is a anion type linear macro-mole substances. It is a white to light yellowish,odorless and tasteless powder,readily soluble in hot or cold water to form a viscous gel solution. It is as binder, thickener,suspending agent in many fields such as pharmacy, food, ceramic,cosmetic,paint,construction etc..

CheSilo CMC solution characteristics depend on the degree of polymerization (D.P) as well as the degree of substitution(D.S). Average chain length and degree of substitution determine molecular weight of the polymer. As molecular weight increases, the viscosity of CheSilo CMC solutions increases rapidly.

Typical properties

It has high hygroscopicity and is soluble in cold or hot water.

It is a polyanionic electrolyte and not fermented.

It has good heat stability,resistance to salt and film-forming property.

It is a strong emulsifier for fat and oil.
